Late Manager – Coast

Team Coast are looking for a confident and dynamic Late Manager to oversee our evening operations, with a key focus on the bar, live music, and late-night service. As Coast continues to grow its reputation for great atmosphere and quality hospitality, we're looking for someone who thrives in a lively environment and can take full ownership of the venue during our busiest evening periods.

This role is ideal for someone with strong bar experience, excellent drinks knowledge, and the confidence to manage a late-night venue independently. You will be responsible for leading the Front of House team during evening service, maintaining high standards behind the bar, and ensuring that our late-night trade runs smoothly and safely.

Coast operates with a licence until 2am, so we are specifically seeking someone who is comfortable and experienced working late nights and managing a venue during those hours. Experience working with security teams, late-night bars, and live music environments is highly beneficial.

You'll report directly to the General Manager, while working closely with the Head Chef and FOH team to maintain Coast's high level of service and operational consistency.

Duties:

  • Oversee all late-night operations including bar service, live music events, and general guest experience
  • Lead the Front of House team during evening shifts, ensuring smooth and efficient service
  • Maintain high standards behind the bar, including cocktails, product knowledge, stock control, and presentation
  • Ensure all operational customer areas remain clean, tidy, and presentable throughout the evening and late-night service
  • Take full responsibility for the venue during late shifts as the manager in charge of the building
  • Work closely with security teams to maintain a safe and controlled environment
  • Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety standards, and Coast's operating procedures
  • Manage cashing-up, end-of-night checks, and all evening administrative duties
  • Support live music nights by coordinating with performers, managing flow of service, and ensuring smooth running of the event
  • Assist in developing cocktail menus, staff drinks training, and bar innovation
  • Oversee The Cliff function room during late shifts, ensuring it is closed down properly, secured, cleaned, and fully prepared for the next booking or event
  • Handle customer issues calmly and professionally, using strong problem-solving skills
  • Contribute to maintaining Coast's strong atmosphere, hospitality standards, and guest satisfaction

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong experience in bar management or senior bar supervision
  • Excellent knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, and bar operations
  • Comfortable working late nights (up to 2am) on a regular basis
  • Experience in late-night venues, bars, or live-music environments is highly desirable
  • Confident leading a team and acting as the responsible manager on duty
  • Ability to problem solve, stay calm under pressure, and think on your feet
  • Good communication skills and a guest-focused approach
  • Experience working with or overseeing security teams is a bonus
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high operational standards
