Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of food production and kitchen operations
  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
  • Manage inventory, including ordering and maintaining stock levels of ingredients
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health regulations
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge
  • Develop new menu items that reflect current trends and customer preferences

Skills

  • Proven supervising experience in a culinary setting
  • Strong background in food production and preparation techniques
  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate others
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Previous kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment is essential
  • Culinary experience with a focus on creativity and innovation in dish creation
  • Understanding of hospitality principles and customer service excellence
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Previous restaurant experience is advantageous
