Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our team in a Care Home environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that all linens and garments are cleaned, pressed, and presented to the highest standards. This position requires a commitment to quality and efficiency by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the Home.

Responsibilities

  • Operate washing machines and dryers, ensuring proper loading and unloading of laundry.
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron linens and garments according to established procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area, including regular cleaning of machines.
  • Monitor inventory levels of laundry supplies and report any shortages or needs for replenishment.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations while handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping staff to ensure timely turnaround of linens for residen rooms.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Good physical stamina, as the role involves standing for long periods and lifting heavy items.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure timely completion of laundry tasks.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
