A large, diverse junior school in the heart of North London, is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their Year 4 team to provide dedicated support for two pupils with significant SEN and SEMH needs.
The Role
In this role you will be working closely with two Year 4 pupils who require intensive, personalised support to access the curriculum and manage their behaviour and wellbeing within the school environment:
- Pupil One: Has an EHCP, limited verbal communication skills, and requires comprehensive scaffolding across all school activities.
- Pupil Two: Has experienced significant trauma, is diagnosed with autism, and has a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile. This pupil may demonstrate challenging and manipulative behaviours and requires an experienced TA who can confidently implement educational psychology behaviour plans.
The successful candidate will be warm, patient, and highly resilient, able to provide consistent, compassionate support. Experience working with children affected by trauma is essential. Candidates with a background as youth workers are especially encouraged to apply.
This role is offered on a full-time contract basis Immediately until July 2026. The hours are 8.30pm – 4.00pm. The school will offer an initial trial of 2 – 3 days to assess suitability and connection.

- Extensive experience supporting children with complex SEN and SEMH needs, particularly those who have experienced trauma.
