EXPERIENCED Hotel Receptionist

The Role

The Grand Hotel, a landmark of elegance in Torquay, is looking for an experienced, professional, and highly organised Hotel Receptionist to join our dedicated Front of House team.

You will be a crucial team member, responsible for ensuring every guest receives an exceptional and seamless experience from the moment they arrive. We require proven experience in maintaining the high standards of hospitality expected at a prestigious establishment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Operations: Efficiently manage guest check-ins, check-outs, and accurate payment processing.
  • System Proficiency: Confidently handle reservations and complex bookings using our property management system, Rezlynx (experience preferred).
  • Information Point: Serve as the primary point of contact, providing comprehensive and accurate information on hotel facilities and local Torquay attractions.
  • Communication: Operate the hotel switchboard professionally, ensuring clear and efficient communication across all hotel departments.
  • Presentation: Maintain a tidy and professional reception area, reflecting the quality and prestige of The Grand Hotel brand.

What We Require

We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrable background in a busy hotel environment.

  • Significant Experience: Verifiable experience in a hotel or high-quality guest services role is essential.
  • Professional Standard: Excellent presentation, strong communicative skills, and a consistent focus on outstanding customer service.
  • Technical Skill: Proficiency with hotel property management systems, ideally Rezlynx.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work a dynamic schedule that includes early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and periods of peak demand.
