Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner Post Gwynedd.

In North Wales we are very excited to be growing our CAMHS Services. If you have a passion for working with children and adolescents or those experiencing mental health difficulties, are a healthcare professional, accredited therapist or Social Worker with experience working to support emotional wellbeing, we are keen to hear from you.

Main duties of the job
You will be a dynamic individual committed to delivering high quality evidence based compassionate care and be keen to undertake a role within a child and adolescent mental health service.

Our Band 6 CAMHS Practitioner posts are open to candidates who are skilled in mental health assessment, risk assessment, and delivering interventions to support emotional wellbeing and mental health. Experience of working within children and young people would be advantageous.

All employees are offered a structured induction and development plan to support clinicians to develop their skills to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post.

Qualifications
Essential criteria

  • Relevant professional Qualification and Registration: NMC registered MH Nurse, NMC registered LD Nurse, SCW/Eng registered Social Worker, HCPC Registered OT, HCPC registered Practitioner PSychologist
  • Eligible to practice under the mental health measure Wales
  • Post grad diploma or relevant knowledge, training and experience in the specialist field acquired through specialist training and on the job experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of mental health problems and disorders
  • Excellent knowledge of family dynamics and issues relating to working with families
  • Understanding of relevant therapeutic approaches
  • Knowledge and appreciation of national policies
  • Welsh language skills

Desirable criteria

  • Additional formal qualification in a recognised therapeutic approach
  • Specific, targeted, evidence based interventions e.g. EMDR
  • Formal qualification in a relevant field e.g. Child Development, Mental Health etc
  • Understanding of service structures and inter-agency working
  • Knowledge of specific disorders / conditions relevant to CAMHS

Experience
Essential criteria

  • Relevant post registration experience of working with children, young people and families in a health or social care environment or mental health setting

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in a specific clinical role relating to CAMHS
  • Previous specialist CAMHS experience

  • Able to carry out mental health assessments autonomously through appropriate questioning, observations and accurate recording
  • Able to collate and interpret information to devise care plans
  • Able to deliver evidence based mental health interventions based on assessment formulation
  • Good organisational skills, Effective time management, Good communication, Team Player
  • Able to relate to children, young people and adults effectively
  • Able to relate well to other professionals

Desirable criteria

  • Able to use formal assessment tools / clinical interviews
  • Able to implement specific evidence based approaches
