London, Greater London, United Kingdom fc16a443-cc61-4c3d-b459-15ff87e60586 Full time £35,000 - £45,000 per year

To plan, write and produce SNF's monthly/bi-monthly newsletter, gathering updates from volunteers, partners and mentors, drafting clear content, coordinating approvals, and ensuring consistent, engaging communication that reflects SNF's mission and activities.

What difference will you make?

The Newsletter Editor will play a central role in strengthening SNF's communication and engagement. As a small CIC with limited capacity, clear and consistent storytelling is vital for keeping mentors, mentees, partners, supporters and potential funders informed and connected. A well-produced newsletter acts as a bridge between our work on the ground and the people who care about our mission.

This role will help SNF build credibility, showcase impact and maintain strong relationships across our network. Sharing news of mentoring success stories, partnerships, events, volunteer opportunities and organisational updates helps people understand who we are, what we're doing and why it matters. It also encourages more people to get involved—whether as mentors, volunteers, supporters or collaborators.

Having a dedicated editor keeps communication organised rather than ad-hoc. It stops important updates being missed or rushed and gives us a professional, consistent voice. It also frees up the founder and trustees to focus on strategy, partnerships and operations, while ensuring our message continues to reach the right audiences.

A strong newsletter supports several long-term goals

  • Raising SNF's profile in the health and safety community
  • Strengthening relationships with sponsors, professional bodies and partner organisations
  • Increasing mentor and mentee engagement
  • Supporting fundraising and sponsorship activity with clear, regular impact stories
  • Helping build a transparent, accountable public presence as SNF grows

Ultimately, this role ensures our community stays informed, involved and connected. The editor's work will directly increase the visibility and credibility of SNF and help us reach more people from disadvantaged backgrounds who can benefit from our mentoring and development support.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who enjoys writing, editing and shaping clear, engaging content. Strong written communication is essential—you must be able to simplify information, tell a story and keep the tone consistent with SNF's values and style.

Attention to detail matters. You'll be checking facts, dates, names and content accuracy. If you spot errors or gaps, you need to be comfortable asking for clarification or improvements. Reliability is key, as newsletters need to be produced regularly and on time.

Experience with newsletters, blogs, copywriting or editorial work is useful. What matters more is that you can organise information, gather content from various people, and turn it into a clean, structured piece of communication. If you've created social media content, written reports, edited articles or managed internal comms, that's all relevant.

You need to be proactive in chasing updates and coordinating contributions, while being polite and approachable. Most people are busy and may need reminders—this comes with the territory, so confidence communicating with volunteers, partners and professionals helps.

Digital confidence is useful. Familiarity with simple design tools (such as Canva or Mailchimp templates) is helpful but not required. We can support you with templates or formatting if needed.

You'll work closely with the founder and comms volunteer, so being open to feedback and collaboration matters. You don't need to be available at specific times—most work is asynchronous—but you do need to manage your own schedule and keep the newsletters moving.

If you care about clear communication and want to help amplify SNF's mission, this role will suit you well.

What will you be doing?

The volunteer will produce SNF's newsletter by gathering updates, writing articles, editing submissions, and selecting content that showcases our work. They'll liaise with volunteers and partners, manage timelines, and ensure each issue is accurate, engaging and on-brand. They'll work closely with the founder and comms volunteer.
