A leading independent corporate finance advisory firm is seeking a Vice President to join its high-performing Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The firm is widely recognised for advising financial services clients on mergers & acquisitions, strategic advisory mandates, and capital-related transactions. With a strong reputation across banking, insurance, asset management, fintech, and specialty finance, the team advises CEOs, boards, and investors on some of the most complex strategic decisions in the sector.

The Opportunity

As a Vice President, you will play a central role in leading transactions, managing client relationships, and driving execution across a wide range of FIG-focused advisory mandates. You will work closely with Managing Directors and Partners, helping to deliver high-quality strategic advice to financial institutions in the UK and across Europe. The role offers exceptional exposure to senior clients, complex deal structures, and a collaborative advisory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions within the financial services sector
  • Manage detailed financial analysis, valuation, and transaction modelling
  • Oversee preparation of client materials including pitchbooks, strategic reviews, and board-level presentations
  • Coordinate due diligence workstreams across legal, financial, regulatory, and operational areas
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, contributing to relationship management and ongoing advisory discussions
  • Support origination efforts through market research, sector mapping, and idea generation
  • Mentor and guide Analysts and Associates throughout deal processes

What We're Looking For

  • Strong FIG background gained in corporate finance advisory, investment banking, or Big 4 corporate finance
  • 5–8 years of experience with a clear track record executing M&A or strategic advisory mandates
  • Deep understanding of financial institutions—such as insurance, banking, asset/wealth management, payments, or specialty finance
  • Exceptional analytical capability, financial modelling skills, and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable leading multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach and ability to develop junior talent
