Environmental Operative – Make a Visible Difference Every Day

Do you take pride in keeping spaces clean, safe, and welcoming? Love working outdoors and being part of a team that makes a real impact in the community? Then this could be the perfect role for you.

As an Environmental Operative, you'll be out and about across our estates—litter picking, removing graffiti, clearing bulk waste, and carrying out light grounds maintenance like weeding and pruning. You'll be the friendly face residents see every day, helping to create cleaner, greener spaces they're proud to call home.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. Whether it's tidying up communal areas or responding to resident feedback, you'll be making a real difference.

What you'll do

  • Keep estates clean and safe through litter picking, graffiti removal, and bulk waste clearance
  • Carry out light grounds maintenance including weeding, pruning, and tidying green spaces
  • Use hand tools and powered equipment confidently and safely
  • Work as part of a supportive team delivering a high-quality, customer-focused service
  • Use mobile devices and platforms like Outlook 365 and Fix My Street to stay connected and responsive

What you'll need

  • Experience in estate cleaning, horticulture, or environmental services
  • Confidence using hand tools and powered equipment
  • Familiarity with mobile devices and basic digital platforms
  • A full UK driving licence is essential, as you'll be covering services like:
  • Sweeper
  • Bulk collection
  • Parks mobile
  • A Basic DBS check (we'll help with this)

Why Join Us?

When you join Peabody, you're joining a team guided by our values:

  • Life assurance at four times your salary
  • Up to 10% pension contribution

Please read before applying

This is a mobile, outdoor role that requires physical work and a full UK driving licence.

You'll be working across estates and green spaces, so being comfortable in all weather conditions is a must.

This role requires a Basic DBS check.

Please note: Peabody does not offer sponsorship for this role.
