This exciting opportunity will be based within, and supported by, our existing landscape design teams with the opportunity to work with colleagues in other disciplines, such as ecologists, landscape managers, planners, and more.
Role
Many of our projects are multidisciplinary meaning the role includes the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects. Some of our current projects include:
– Championship sports venues
– Housing master plans
– Work on historic parks and gardens
– University campus projects
– Town centre public realm enhancement schemes
– Urban parks and coastal regeneration projects.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering drawing packages and design reports for a range of sites at all stages of the design process from inception through to construction. Being in our London studio there will be a focus on projects in London and the southeast, but on occasion, the role may involve assisting our teams across the UK. The role will consist of the following tasks:
– Supporting the wider design team on larger projects or managing smaller projects under the guidance of more senior colleagues. You will have the opportunity to work on projects across a range of sectors with a focus on development sites including residential schemes. All LUC's design projects are based either in the UK or Ireland.
– Carrying out site visits.
– Attend community consultation events.
– Reviewing landscape works progressing on construction sites.
– Attending relevant external project-based meetings with clients and external design teams.
– Planning stage and technical drawing production using AutoCAD and Revit based software.
– Preparation of design reports including written elements and diagrams, using Adobe Creative Suite.
– Production of planting plans and technical details. LUC use KeySCAPE software for planting plans and training can be provided to the successful candidate.
– Participation in team CPD and general training.
– Project management including completing timesheets, managing time on tasks against project budgets, maintaining awareness of project fees and scope.
– Managing junior consultants to help deliver supporting design tasks
The role includes the opportunity to share and participate actively in the management and ownership of the business through the Employee Ownership Trust, which places full ownership of the company with the employees.
The role is based in LUC's office in London. We work in a hybrid model with people being in the office a minimum of two days per week. There may also be travel required to visit sites, client offices and other office locations.
A full-time role is based on 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday). However, LUC has a strong track record in flexible working, and we have been recognised for our flexible working culture, so we are happy to discuss a range of flexible working options for this role including part time hours (minimum 30 hours per week) if desired.
