Electrical Harness Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Harness Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with expertise in designing and developing electrical harness systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of electrical systems into various projects, utilizing advanced engineering tools and methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Review style and design to identify & subsequently resolve manufacturing feasibility
concerns and support Manufacturing Functional deliverables i.e. DFM etc.
- Analyze part design through virtual and physical studies to provide
recommendations, identify issues and support problem resolution
- Analyze dimensional management outputs and develop assembly strategies to ensure
product quality targets are achieved
- Support Virtual Build and reviews to validate process hard points and sequence, Design &
MF reviews, complex problem-solving investigation etc.
- Support definition of key BIW measurements for collation into Function Mass Catalogue
(FMK)
- Support concern resolution through business process and Support for Control Build
activities.
- Identification and development of best practice principles within the industry and associated
industries (Benchmarking knowledge development through technical literature)
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify solutions to resolve concerns and implement
opportunities, including lessons learnt from previous projects.
- Maintain DFM concerns trackers & feasibility statements (new items,
recommendations, actions, updates etc.)
Support physical validation trials, e.g., property/Vorderwagen builds
Support supplier design reviews and collate & distribute minutes
Review & monitor surface change tracker for manufacturing impact
Conduct analysis to support change management feedback
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
Experience:
- Harness design: 4 years (required)
- CATIA V5 & SIEMENS Teamcenter: 4 years (required)
- 2D engineering drawings: 5 years (preferred)
