Due to planned and sustained company growth we have career opportunities within our workshop facility.
We are looking for applications from qualified and experienced HGV Technicians in servicing and repairs on all types of HGV vehicles including trailers to VOSA standard. Primarily you will be based within our workshop in Durham which will be soon moving to a new facility in Birtley but will be required to also work on a mobile basis to assist with call outs / breakdowns as and when required.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to repair a wide spectrum of vehicles specifically HGV Tippers. We are seeking a true all rounder who has the ability and competence to prioritise work tasks and liaise effectively with customers as well as supply excellent mechanical skills.
M.O.T. preparation
You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality
Diagnosing of vehicles with diagnostic equipment
Able to work unsupervised and use own initiative with excellent communication skills to work efficiently with other colleagues.
Ensure paperwork is up to date and in order.
Key Skills/Qualifications required
- Must have previous experience in a similar role working in a busy fast paced environment
- Experience working with HGV's
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Ideally you will be apprenticeship served, Level 3 qualified in Heavy vehicle Repair and Maintenance or City and Guilds equivalent
- Class 1 licence advantageous
