At Myerscough, our values drive us: we are passionate about education, collaborative in our approach, professional in everything we do, and committed to Fredie (Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement).
About the role
At Myerscough College and University Centre, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment that empowers every learner to achieve their potential. Within our Foundation Learning department, we provide programmes that support young people and adults to develop essential skills, confidence, and independence — helping them prepare for further education, employment, and adulthood.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our College as Curriculum Area Manager – Foundation Learning.
In this pivotal role, you will support the Director of Inclusion with all operational matters within the Foundation Learning curriculum area. Your focus will be on delivering a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our learners, including those accessing 14–16 provision and Fylde Coast Academy Trust (FCAT) schools.
Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with the Director of Inclusion to ensure that curriculum design and delivery meet the needs of learners, employers, and the wider community.
- Leading and supporting teaching teams to deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences that promote achievement, progression, and personal development.
- Supporting the management of curriculum planning, performance, timetabling, and budgets in line with college strategy.
- Embedding safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion (FREDIE principles) throughout the curriculum area.
- Driving continuous quality improvement and contributing to college-wide quality assurance processes such as QAR, SAR, and performance reviews.
- Building strong relationships with students, parents, employers, and partner schools to ensure positive outcomes for all learners.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, learner-focused professional who is passionate about inclusion and committed to making a difference. You will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate teams and manage change effectively.
By joining Myerscough, you will become part of a welcoming and supportive community that values innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
If you are passionate about education and influencing the future work force, possess exceptional managerial skills, and are dedicated to providing a high-quality learning experience for students, we encourage you to apply for the role of Curriculum Area Manager. Join our dynamic team and contribute to the growth and success of our college.
By choosing to work with us, you'll enjoy a wide range of benefits. You'll receive a holiday package of 40 days annual leave (full time equivalent) as well as membership of the Teachers' Pension Scheme. Based at our picturesque campus in rural Lancashire, you will enjoy working in a bespoke and sector leading facility with a passionate and supportive team of colleagues who are committed to empowering futures and providing the best experience and platform for all our students to succeed.
