We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Teaching Technician within our D'Arcy
Thompson Unit, to support our practical class teaching. This is a fixed-term appointment until September
2026.
Please note that applications made on a part-time basis for this role will not be considered.
Your priorities will include:
. As part of a technical support team you will assist in the preparation, delivery and development of
practical class sessions.
Organise, set up and clear away practical class experiments.
Demonstrate and give advice to students during practical class sessions on Health and Safety,
laboratory techniques and use of equipment.
- Give advice on Health and Safety to personnel entering the laboratory and enforce compliance
with Health and Safety regulations and ensure laboratory rules are followed.
- Ensure Laboratories and preparation rooms are clean and tidy.
Who we're looking for:
HNC in a relevant science subject or equivalent
Significant practical experience of working in a teaching laboratory
Excellent written and communication skills
Knowledge of Health and Safety and working within Health and Safety guidelines
Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
