We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Teaching Technician within our D'Arcy

Thompson Unit, to support our practical class teaching. This is a fixed-term appointment until September

2026.

Please note that applications made on a part-time basis for this role will not be considered.

Your priorities will include:

. As part of a technical support team you will assist in the preparation, delivery and development of

practical class sessions.

• Organise, set up and clear away practical class experiments.

• Demonstrate and give advice to students during practical class sessions on Health and Safety,

laboratory techniques and use of equipment.

• Give advice on Health and Safety to personnel entering the laboratory and enforce compliance

with Health and Safety regulations and ensure laboratory rules are followed.

• Ensure Laboratories and preparation rooms are clean and tidy.

Who we're looking for:

• HNC in a relevant science subject or equivalent

• Significant practical experience of working in a teaching laboratory

• Excellent written and communication skills

• Knowledge of Health and Safety and working within Health and Safety guidelines

• Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
