We're excited to offer a brand-new opportunity to join our expanding Young People's Supported Accommodation Service as a High Needs Supported Accommodation Worker.
About the Role
This is your chance to be part of something fresh, dynamic, and deeply impactful—supporting young people around the ages of 16 and 17 (but at times up to 25) who are living in Supported Accommodation. These young people come from a range of backgrounds and life experiences including being in care or a care leaver, Child in Need, Unaccompanied Asylum-seeking Children or those who experience homelessness. Some of these young people may also have experienced developmental trauma/adverse childhood experiences or have other complex and challenging behavioural or emotional needs. All of them need caring, nurturing support as they transition to adulthood.
As a High Needs Supported Accommodation Worker, you will:
- Provide day-to-day caring support to young people in both 24/7 staffed and dispersed accommodation settings.
- Be a key worker, building strong, trusting relationships and helping young people develop the skills they need for independent living.
- Support young people across our Core Offer areas: health and wellbeing, education and employment, staying safe, life skills, and more.
Work flexibly including a- of evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and sleep-in duty as part of a rota to ensure 24/7 support. - Collaborate with a wide range of professionals and services to deliver truly integrated, person-centred support.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Empathetic, resilient, and committed to supporting young people
- A great communicator who can build positive relationships and advocate effectively.
- Flexible and proactive, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to work across the county wide service when needed (although you will primarily be designated to work in the East or West of the County)
- Transport young people when needed (expenses reimbursed).
- Ideally experienced in working with young people in residential care, supported accommodation or supported housing environment.
You'll need to hold or be willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma or higher related to caring/supporting children
