Bealings School are looking for an organised, motivated, and caring Wraparound Care Assistant to assist in the day-to-day running of the school's wraparound care provision, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for children before and after the school day.

Your responsibilities

  • Welcome and supervise children attending before- and after-school sessions.
  • Support the delivery of engaging activities (arts, crafts, games, outdoor play, etc.) suitable for different ages and interests
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction in line with the school's values and policies
  • Help prepare and serve healthy snacks and drinks
  • Ensure the wraparound care area is safe, tidy, and well-organised
  • Assist with set-up and clearing away of resources and equipment
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to support children's wellbeing and enjoyment
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow safeguarding procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues
  • To administer first aid as necessary and report accidents according to school procedures.

What you will need

Essential:

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting
  • A warm, caring, and patient manner with children
  • An enthusiastic and proactive attitude
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Desirable:

  • First Aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training)
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
