Job purpose: To operate as part of the team within the warehouse to deliver key performance targets, safely, effectively and efficiently, meeting the required customer and technical standards.

Operational Responsibilities

Assist goods Inwards in receiving product as requiredStoring food items in the correct locationPick and collate orders accuratelyCheck products are labelled correctly from receipt (batch codes etc) through to despatch (customer codes, order number) to ensure full traceabilityOrganise product for despatch accordingly at end of shift ready for loading crew the following morningVerify all orders processed for despatch are on the correct palletsAct as standby driver to complete deliveries if necessary should the need ariseRaise awareness to senior management or the sales team of any product that is unavailable, or of deliveries that are late and require expeditingAssist the Warehouse Manager and Department Supervisors by supporting other warehouse departments as required

Health and Safety

Wear correct PPE including, clothing, gloves and shoesComply with food and hygiene requirements and HACCP principles at all timesOperate within the company health and safety standards at all times and ensure that workstations are kept clean and tidy at all timesReport any hazards or equipment problems immediately to your Department Supervisor and support resolution as appropriate

Knowledge, Skills, Experience

Previous warehouse work would be an advantageFork Lift Truck licence and experience would be a plusKnowledge and understanding of supply chain – including requirements and expectations from intake through to processing and despatchAbility to prioritise workload effectivelyAbility to work under pressure and deliver to deadlinesKnowledge and understanding of the food and meat industry is desirableKnowledge and understanding of factors which affect efficiencyTeamwork and communication skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Shift Pattern

Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm, with a 30 minute unpaid break, Friday 8am - 2.30pm. Total 38 hours per week.

Salary from £25,826 based on experience and qualifications
