Carpenter / Joiner Needed for Custom Furniture – Ongoing Work (Barnes SW13)

We're a startup estate agency and property management company based in Barnes, SW13, and we regularly get client requests for custom-made furniture — both built-in and standalone.

We're looking for a skilled carpenter/joiner we can count on for these projects: someone local (or with a van and able to deliver to Barnes), who takes pride in their craft, prices fairly, and doesn't try to retire off one job.

This is freelance work, not employment — ideal for someone running their own workshop and looking for steady repeat business.

What you'll do

  • Build made-to-measure furniture for our clients (and sometimes for our own office)
  • Work either in your own workshop (for standalone pieces) or on-site (for built-in jobs)
  • Deliver and, where necessary, install items at properties around Barnes and nearby areas
  • Maintain a high-quality finish, attention to detail, and reliable turnaround times

The first project

We'd like to start with a small test job:

a standalone display cabinet on six heavy-duty castor wheels, to be made from MDF or pine and painted white.

The unit will stand against our office window and hold three large 3D printers in the lower compartments, with a display model resting on top.

Full diagrams and dimensions can be provided on application.

  • Access to your own tools, workspace, and transport (van preferred)
  • Honest, reliable, and professional attitude
  • Realistic, fair pricing — we're a new business on a tight budget, but we reward quality and reliability with repeat work
  • Quick turnaround times and good communication
