Role Overview

As an Estimator/ Project Manager, you will support the commercial and operational teams by preparing accurate quotations, assessing tender documents, analysing technical drawings, and contributing to commercial decision-making across a wide range of fire protection projects. You'll play a key part in AFT Group's continued success, ensuring we price competitively, deliver compliantly, and maintain our reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications
• Preparing accurate, well-structured estimates and quotations
• Working with commercial and operational managers to produce pricing strategies
• Supporting bid submissions, client proposals and commercial reporting
• Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers for material rates and technical information
• Evaluating risk, value engineering options and commercial opportunities
• Maintaining and developing internal estimating systems and processes
• Supporting the wider team on contract variations, cost analysis and performance data
• Contributing to the growth of a highly respected fire protection provider
• Managing own workloads
• Hands on Project Management - Meeting clients on-site and building relationships

What We're Looking For

• Experience in estimating or quantity surveying (desirable, not essential)
• A structured, analytical and detail-driven approach
• Strong numerical, commercial and IT skills
• Excellent communication and report-writing ability
• A willingness to learn, develop and progress
• Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and take ownership
• A genuine interest in fire protection, building safety and compliance
• Degree-level qualification in construction, surveying, engineering or related field (ideal but not essential)
