Job Overview

We are seeking a Office Cleaner to maintain a clean and hygienic environment within our office and laboratory premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all office and lab areas are tidy, sanitary, and presentable, contributing to a professional and welcoming atmosphere. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is not essential. This role would be ideally suited for a retiree seeking a few hours of work a week.

Duties

  • Clean and disinfect all office surfaces, including desks, tables, and workstations
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors across various office areas
  • Empty bins and dispose of waste responsibly
  • Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of communal areas such as kitchens and break rooms
  • Ensure restrooms are hygienic and well-stocked at all times
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages to management promptly
  • Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous but not mandatory
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Reliable with a good work ethic and punctuality
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting light equipment and standing for extended periods
  • A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
