Job Title: O&M Engineer Solar PV

Location: Nationwide travel - Office based in Bristol 

Salary: £35,000 £42,000 per annum (DOE)

Job Type: Full-time / Permanent

About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing specialist Operations & Maintenance provider for commercial and industrial Solar PV systems. They are seeking a skilled and ambitious O&M Engineer to join their expanding team and support their Electrical Manager as the business scales.

This role will suit an experienced engineer who is confident working independently, eager to develop with a fast-growing business, and comfortable with the nationwide travel that the position demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections, fault diagnosis, and maintenance on single-phase and three-phase rooftop and ground-mount Solar PV systems

  • Undertake remedial works, component replacements, and performance upgrades

  • Manage contractors for larger remedial projects

  • Maintain clear communication with clients, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction

  • Produce accurate work logs, inspection records, and remedial reports

  • Operate nationwide with regular travel and overnight stays when required

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent)

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

  • Desirable: AM2, 2391/2394/2395

  • Demonstrable experience in commercial solar PV O&M and electrical works

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety, including safe systems of work and permits to work

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • Comfortable working at height (IPAF/Mansafe training can be provided)

  • Flexibility to travel and stay away from home

Desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge of MCS rules and standards

  • First Aid at Work certification

  • Experience with data networks (RS485/MODBUS)

  • IPAF licence

  • Experience working with HV systems
