The ideal applicant will possess strong proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks, alongside programming skills in Python, C++, and Perl. A solid understanding of surface mount technology, ARM architecture, signal processing, and debugging techniques is essential.

Duties

  • Develop detailed electrical schematics and system designs using CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
  • Analyse complex electronic systems employing root cause analysis to identify faults and optimise performance.
  • Design and simulate embedded systems using MATLAB/Simulink and programme firmware for microcontrollers such as ARM-based devices.
  • Create technical documentation including schematics, system specifications, and assembly instructions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into mechanical assemblies using Revit or MicroStation.

  • Perform testing of surface mount technology (SMT) components and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
  • Support system integration by working with firmware developers to ensure seamless operation of hardware and software components.
  • Utilise Python or Perl scripting for automation tasks or data analysis related to electrical systems.
  • Assist in the realisation of prototypes through schematic layout optimisation and system validation.

Experience

  • Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on system design, circuit analysis, and schematic development.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks is essential.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Perl are highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with SoC architectures, surface mount technology (SMT), debugging processes, soldering techniques, and firmware development.
  • Knowledge of signal processing methods along with experience working with ARM microcontrollers or similar embedded platforms.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex electronic systems efficiently.
  • Mechanical knowledge relevant to integrating electrical components within mechanical assemblies is advantageous.
  • Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematic capture tools, and electrical system documentation is preferred. This role offers a stimulating environment for engineers passionate about advancing their expertise within a dynamic organisation committed to innovation in electrical engineering solutions.
