GBR Bristol, United Kingdom Semtech Full time

At Semtech, we don't just build cutting-edge technology — we shape the systems that connect, power, and protect the world. As our Senior Staff Product Engineer, Lifecycle Engineering, you'll play a key role in ensuring that our high-performance products continue to meet the rigorous standards of our global customers long after release.

You'll take full ownership of sustaining engineering, yield improvement, and manufacturing optimization — leading the technical efforts that directly impact performance, cost, and profitability across the entire product lifecycle. This is an opportunity to make visible contributions to both engineering excellence and business results, in a collaborative environment that values expertise, creativity, and initiative.

What You'll Do

Drive Product Excellence

  • Lead margin improvement and yield optimization activities across production sites and suppliers.
  • Own all aspects of the product lifecycle — from production ramp to end-of-life management.
  • Maintain product documentation, BOMs, routings, and ensure manufacturing readiness across global sites.

Solve Complex Challenges

  • Investigate and resolve critical production issues impacting quality, test performance, or yield.
  • Work closely with Test Engineers to enhance test coverage, streamline test time, and optimize cost.
  • Lead structured problem-solving using 8D, CAPA, and other quality methodologies.

Collaborate and Influence

  • Partner with Design and NPI teams to embed manufacturability and cost efficiency early in the product lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure consistent output and product health.
  • Use data-driven insight to influence decisions that improve manufacturing stability and customer satisfaction.

Innovate Through Data

  • Apply statistical analysis tools (Excel, JMP, Galaxy, dataConductor) to model yields and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects that push the boundaries of cost, performance, and reliability.
What You Bring
  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 5–8 years' experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong background in product, test, or design engineering — ideally in sustaining or lifecycle support roles.
  • Proven success in yield analysis, margin recovery, and cross-functional problem-solving.
  • Solid understanding of ATE test systems (Advantest, Teradyne) or equivalent bench setups.
  • Experience with data-driven engineering, including statistical process control and design of experiments.
  • Familiarity with high-speed serial digital interfaces, video/datacom systems, or JEDEC/Mil quality standards is a plus.
Why You'll Love Working Here

At Semtech, we believe innovation starts with people. You'll join a team where your technical insight has immediate impact — helping us improve performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction across global product lines.

We offer a culture that rewards initiative, values collaboration, and provides the resources to keep growing your expertise.

Our pay-for-performance philosophy means your contributions are recognized, your career can grow, and your work truly makes a difference.
