Site Manager – Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Drax, with sites across York, Harrogate, and North Leeds

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Site Manager to join a dynamic construction team on a major care home extension project. This is a permanent role, starting in February, to allow time to get fully set up and prepare a comprehensive site plan ahead of construction beginning in the first week of March.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full delivery of a new build wing extension, from set out to completion.
  • Manage and supervise on-site labour, subcontractors, and resources efficiently.
  • Maintain high attention to detail across all aspects of the build, including quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Prepare and manage site paperwork, reports, and progress updates.
  • Think ahead and plan proactively to avoid delays or issues on site.
  • Contribute directly to the build when necessary – a hands-on approach is essential.

About You:

  • Proven experience managing full new-build projects, ideally within care home, healthcare, or commercial sectors.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, with a "bricks and mortar" mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to set out and manage multiple elements of a site.
  • Professional presentation and communication skills are important – you'll be representing the project and liaising with clients and subcontractors.
  • A practical, hands-on attitude with a willingness to get involved on site when needed.
