Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator (Freelance) – Specialist Contractor

NuColour is a specialist commercial & industrial coatings contractor operating across London and the South East. We deliver high value works including:

  • Cladding spraying & refurbishment
  • Intumescent fire protection coatings
  • Industrial/commercial roof coatings
  • Commercial cleaning & restoration

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to support the pricing of tenders, commercial enquiries and project cost planning.

Role Responsibilities

  • Independently review tender packs, drawings, specs & scope documents
  • Produce accurate and comprehensive cost estimates
  • Prepare full breakdowns for labour, materials, plant and access equipment
  • Identify project risks and clarify assumptions
  • Assess profit margins and provide commercial recommendations
  • Produce prices for both small works and large multi-stage projects
  • Liaise with suppliers for specialist material quotations as required
  • Support tender submissions and pricing strategy
  • Assist with variations/change costing on live projects if needed

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator in construction
  • Ability to cost projects independently and accurately
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies
  • Experience interpreting drawings and BOQs
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing deadlines
  • Experience with specialist contractors advantageous
