About Harmony Fire
Harmony Fire is one of the UK's most ambitious and fastest-growing life safety organisations, delivering compliance, consultancy and engineering services that protect people, property and communities. Our mission is clear: to raise the standard of fire safety across the built environment and ensure every building we touch is safer, smarter and fully compliant.
We are now investing heavily in a new and rapidly expanding Fire Consultancy business unit, building a nationally recognised technical function within Harmony Fire. This is a rare opportunity to join at a formative stage — shaping processes, establishing best practice, influencing technical direction and helping position Harmony as one of the UK's leading life-safety consultancies.
Our consultancy team works closely with housing providers, local authorities, developers, asset owners and responsible persons, providing high-quality fire engineering, FRAEW, external wall expertise and strategic life safety advice. You'll be part of a high-performance environment where innovation, precision and client care are central to everything we do.
We offer exceptional progression, complete transparency around development, and a benefits package designed to attract and retain true A-Players.
About the Role
As Principal Fire Engineer, you will act as one of the senior technical authorities within Harmony's consultancy function. You will lead complex fire engineering workstreams, contribute heavily to strategic technical decisions, and support the development of the growing London-based team.
This role requires deep technical expertise, exceptional client-facing capabilities and the confidence to work across complex building types, regulatory challenges and multi-stakeholder environments. You will play a key role in shaping Harmony's fire engineering standards as we grow our consultancy footprint nationally.
Working closely with the Technical Director, you will provide expert input into fire strategies, RIBA-aligned designs, FRAEW assessments, external wall reviews and broader risk management planning. You will also help build and mentor a team of high-calibre engineers as we scale.

- Apply in-depth knowledge of the Fire Safety (Scotland) Act 2005 and Fire Safety (Scotland) Regulations 2006

- Mentor, guide and support a small team of engineers and consultants
- Manage client relationships and communicate complex technical concepts clearly
- Produce fully compliant documentation aligned to relevant British Standards, ADB and CP3
- Utilise SaaS tools (Bluebeam, RISKBASE, RISKFLAG) for capturing and presenting evidence
- Support the continuous improvement of our new consultancy division

- Minimum 10 years' experience in fire engineering
