Layers is the hottest new opening in the London bakery & specialty coffee scene

We are an independent bakery cafe on London City Island, East London. Everything is baked in house at the highest quality using fresh, fun flavors. We are looking for a charismatic individual that will showcase our products in the cafe which will also be sold all around London through our wholesale side of the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and bake a variety of bakery items, including bread and pastries

  • Follow recipes and ensure consistency in product quality and taste

  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment

  • Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, bread slicer, prover

  • Monitor baking process and adjust temperatures or cooking times as needed

-Pack delivery for drivers, print delivery notes

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen or bakery setting is preferred

  • Knowledge of food production techniques and baking principles

  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively

Skills:

  • Proficient in various baking techniques and methods

  • Knowledge of different types of flours, sugars, and other baking ingredients

  • Ability to operate commercial baking equipment safely and efficiently

  • Understanding of food preparation techniques for both sweet and savory items

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
