Overview

We're a family-run BBQ restaurant passionate about smoked meats, cooking over coals, and serving freshly prepared meals to our customers. We're looking for a reliable and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team and help us deliver great-tasting food with care and consistency.

About the Role

You'll work alongside our experienced team, helping to prepare, cook, and present our BBQ dishes to a high standard. This is a hands-on role where teamwork, attention to detail, and a passion for great food are essential.

Duties

  • Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and cooking ingredients as directed by the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor
  • Support food safety practices by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
  • Help organise food supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper storage
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods
  • Clean kitchen equipment and utensils after use, maintaining a tidy workspace at all times
  • Assist in serving meals to customers, ensuring presentation meets our quality standards

Skills & What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a catering or restaurant environment
  • Knowledge of meal preparation techniques and food safety regulations
  • Strong cooking skills and culinary experience
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • High standards of hygiene and attention to detail
  • Reliability, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for food, cooking, and presentation

Requirements

  • Must be over the age of 20
  • Must have a valid driving licence and access to transport (location not ideal for public transport)
  • No sponsorships available

- Full time staff free food is given after probation period whilst on shift. 50% off for part time staff. All staff get 10% with friends and family and takeouts.

  • Tips are also given to kitchen shared out equally with the team at the end of shift. tips are also added to your pay.

  • Pay is monthly.

  • We are closed over Christmas and new years every year. (this year is last working day 22nd December we reopen on the 2nd January 2025)

  • Opening hours are Wednesday to Sunday ( weekend work is required closed Mondays and Tuesdays)

Pay: £12.21-£13.50 per hour
