About the Role

We are seeking an experienced
Secretary
to join our busy law firm in Reading, covering
criminal, prison, and family law
. The role also includes
shared reception responsibilities
, which may require occasional front-of-house duties.

Key Requirements

To be considered, candidates must have:

  • Previous experience in a secretary/administrator role (
    legal experience preferred
    )
  • Experience with
    audio typing
    using digital dictation software
  • Excellent
    IT skills
    , including the use of case management systems
  • Strong
    organisational skills
    and the ability to
    multi-task and prioritise
  • Comfortable dealing with a
    diverse pool of people
  • Strong
    discretion
    and professionalism
  • Flexible working approach

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Audio typing of general correspondence and legal documents
  • Diary management, including key dates and appointments
  • Organising
    prison visits
  • General administration and correspondence handling
  • Shared
    reception duties
  • Correlation of documents and bundles
  • Answering telephone calls
  • Taking new client enquiries
