Lead Clinician

As a Lead Clinician, you will look after the physical, psychological and social needs of the individuals within our care, delivering the high-quality care they deserve. You will create a supportive environment for our residents who may have a range of physical and mental health needs. You will rely on your professional judgement to make critical clinical decisions and can expect a wide range of clinical responsibilities.

You'll need to have current NMC registration and a good knowledge of the most up-to-date clinical practices to join us as a Lead Clinician. Experience of producing well-developed care plans and detailed risk assessments is important too, as is an understanding of regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines. Dedicated and compassionate, you'll pride yourself on your person-centred, thoughtful approach to nursing.

  • To have full knowledge of and to follow both Code of Conducts for Social Care Wales and the Nursing and Midwifery Council and to be accountable for your professional practice
  • To maintain and develop professional knowledge and maintain clinical skills to keep abreast of social and clinical developments in care
  • To take a lead role to ensure that colleagues obtain and share specialist knowledge i.e. infection control; diabetes; wound care; pressure care; ANTT etc and to take a lead role within the Home in at least one specialist area
  • To ensure that each older person's Care Plan is reviewed on a monthly basis or when required when indicated by the responsible Nurse and give assistance/advice/training when necessary.
  • To audit medicines management for administration; custody; control and disposal of medicines and the monthly ordering referencing where necessary, the NMC guidelines; NICE guidelines and The Royal Pharmaceutical Society guidelines
  • To ensure that all Home policies and procedures are adhered to and to work in conjunction with the Registered Manager, and Health & Safety Officers if and when Policies may need amending
  • To liaise with all healthcare bodies and GPs for resident wellbeing
  • To participate and contribute to the teaching requirements of the Home
  • To assist colleagues assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing and social care interventions and communicate it effectively to the team
  • To be conversant with all relevant and current legislations. The post holder will be expected to work on the floor if and when required to cover sickness, annual leave etc
  • The post holder will assist and support the development and implementation of any new systems at the Home

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £21.00-£25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 36 per week
