Overview

We have a great opportunity for a full-time sales assistant to join our Harrogate shop team. Our Harrogate shop is open 7 days a week and we'll be looking for someone who is flexible to work on a rota basis, including regular weekends and Bank Holidays.

All About You

We are looking for someone who is truly customer-focused. You will possess a positive can-do approach to your job and take pride in providing excellent customer service to our new and loyal customers. You will be highly organised with excellent time keeping and will have a natural enthusiasm for representing the Sophie Allport brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers, creating a welcoming and positive shopping experience.
  • Assist customers in finding products and offer helpful guidance to support their choices.
  • Answer customer queries confidently and share excellent knowledge of our collections and promotions.
  • Keep the store and product displays tidy, well-stocked, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Stay informed about current offers and help set up promotional displays.
  • Take part in stock control, including replenishing shelves, receiving deliveries, and storing merchandise safely.
  • Process cash and card payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Support end-of-day procedures, including balancing tills and cashing up.
  • Remain aware of relevant risk assessments and follow all Health & Safety measures.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety policies to maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues.

Experience, Requirements & Attributes

  • Previous retail experience or relevant experience working in a customer facing environment.
  • Knowledge of till systems.
  • Organised and proactive in approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • A team player.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Keen eye for detail.
  • An interest in lifestyle, homewares, and interiors is an advantage.
  • The successful candidate must have Right to Work in the UK and live within commutable distance.
