Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a supportive and respectful environment. This role involves assisting seniors and individuals with disabilities with daily activities, health monitoring, and emotional support. The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care settings, home health, or assisted living, along with a strong understanding of patient safety and care plans. The Senior Care Assistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive caregiving and personalized support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
  • Administer medications following prescribed care plans
  • Support residents with mental health and memory care needs
  • Use specialized equipment and ensure proper safety protocols are followed during transfers
  • Observe and report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
  • Assist with light housekeeping and catering duties to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a respectful and caring atmosphere

Skills

  • Proven experience in senior care, assisted living, or home & community care environments
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols and HIPAA compliance
  • Ability to assist with ADLs using proper techniques,
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health needs
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Compassionate demeanor with excellent caregiving skills and patience
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to hospice care, home health, social work practices, and resident safety protocols
