Overview:

We are seeking an experienced
3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer
to provide advanced technical support and lead infrastructure initiatives within a large, complex enterprise environment. This role involves troubleshooting, project delivery, and ensuring robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced (3rd line) technical support across infrastructure components: servers, networks, storage, virtualization, telephony, and related systems.
  • Manage incidents, problems, and changes; investigate root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent fixes.
  • Participate in or lead infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, deployments, and transformation programs (e.g., cloud adoption, digital transformation).
  • Configure and maintain infrastructure technologies:
  • Virtualization:
    VMware, Hyper-V
  • Servers:
    Windows Server, Linux
  • Networking:
    routers, switches, firewalls
  • Telephony & Wireless Systems
  • Ensure infrastructure meets security, availability, capacity, and disaster recovery requirements.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation such as architecture diagrams, configuration guides, runbooks, and change plans.
  • Work within ITIL or similar service management frameworks, ensuring SLA compliance and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders; mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
    Degree in Computing/IT or equivalent experience
  • Vendor certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, etc.)
  • ITIL Foundation or similar service management qualification
  • Experience:
    3–5+ years in infrastructure engineering within large, complex environments
  • Proven track record in project delivery and enterprise systems management
  • Technical Expertise:Servers & Virtualization:
    Windows Server, Linux, VMware, Hyper-V
  • Storage & Backup:
    SAN/NAS solutions, backup/disaster recovery tools (e.g., Veeam)
  • Cloud & Automation:
    Exposure to public/private cloud, hybrid infrastructure, scripting (PowerShell, Terraform desirable)
  • Security & Compliance:
    Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and regulatory compliance standards
