Description
We are currently looking for a
Duty Manager
to join our Visitor Experience Exhibitions team on a part time, permanent contract of 20 hours per week.
This is a unique opportunity to join the team of Visitor Experience Duty Managers whose focus is
on providing a world class experience to all visitors to Southbank Centre. If you can provide exceptional customer service, being an ambassador for Southbank Centre which includes;
- Ensuring our busy site is safe and secure.
- Reflecting Southbank Centre as a friendly and welcoming destination in which to work, perform and visit.
- Ensuring our site and working areas are well maintained and presented.
- Providing a pleasurable, accessible, efficient, knowledgeable and well organised experience for all visitors and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the needs of the visitors and artworks, ensuring safety and security at all times
- Lead the Hayward Gallery Visitor Assistant Team in providing a warm welcome to all visitors and supporting them in their role as the face of Southbank Centre
- Ensure foyers and gallery spaces are maintained to the highest standards, reporting issues to relevant staff for action
- Line manage the Visitor Assistant team, meeting with Visitor Assistants regularly, inspiring them to be engaging and welcoming
- Work closely with the Ticketing Management team to deliver exhibition digital ticketing, resolve issues and maximise available tickets for sale
Skills & Experience
- Experience in arts venue Duty Management management preferably in a gallery or museum
- Experience of providing clear and spirited direction, leading and motivating a large team of staff in a challenging, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrable working knowledge of Health and Safety, Fire Regulations and Personal License Holder
- Organised and efficient with a proven track record of collaborating with other departments, preferably within an arts venue or visitor attraction
- Experience of delivering training and presenting effectively to large groups
