StocktononTees United Kingdom Of Great Britain And Northern Ireland Prospect Path Full time £35,000 - £60,000 per year

We're looking for a web application developer to join our development team. We're looking for someone who is ready to jump right in to learn and develop our existing products and projects.

We have two key existing products: Prospect Path, a customer acquisition platform that allows software companies to find best fit customers, and Software Path, a software comparison site, that helps people find great software for their team. Both Prospect Path and Software Path are built using the Laravel PHP framework, React, Tailwind, and are hosted on AWS. Automated testing and deployment are handled by Github.

Our products are growing and improving, so we're looking for someone who has experience maintaining and testing features, and creating new products. You should have at least two years of experience working in the industry with PHP, React, Javascript, and Tailwind.

Who are we?

Prospect Path is an equal opportunities employer, and we are committed to creating an environment that is inclusive as well as diverse where all team members have the opportunity to thrive and develop.

We are a small company based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK although our team is fully remote and spread across the globe. We help people find great software for their business using our online publications and tools for software buyers and sellers.

As we're a small team, your work will immediately have a big impact. You will work closely with everyone in the business from the start as you use your technical skills to solve problems. You should be comfortable working collaboratively with designers and user researchers while gathering requirements and reviewing work on building features.

In this role you will be able to:

Build features in their entirety

You'll get to take ownership of the features you build, from requirements gathering, planning, and implementation right through to seeing them benefit our team and customers.

Use the latest technologies

We test and deploy our code using modern scalable cloud platforms. We build our features using the latest web frameworks and libraries. You'll be involved in helping us to innovate as we discover and use the latest tools.

Grow with us

Currently, we're a small team but we have big plans for our business and the products we want to offer. The systems you help us to create will be key in ensuring that we are able to grow our business and products smoothly as you quickly become an integral part of the team.

This is you:

  • You are happiest working in a remote first environment

  • You have at least two years of industry experience working with Laravel and Javascript

  • You have worked with internal stakeholders to gather project requirements

  • You have used the Laravel PHP framework

  • You are able to effectively communicate your process, and action feedback in a timely manner

  • You have used React for front end development and ideally, have some experience using Redux for front end state management

  • You have experience testing and deploying product features

  • You have implemented responsive front ends which meet modern accessibility standards based on designs created by a designer

  • You have an interest in design systems and some experience applying them

  • You use version control and are familiar with creating merge requests

  • You have developed software in a team using an agile development methodology

  • You are good at recognising problems and solving them

  • You enjoy both working independently to build features and collaborating with teams to understand requirements, get feedback on features you have built, and grow your understanding of the business

  • You enjoy learning about software design patterns and applying them to your work

Perks of the job:

  • We are a living wage employer - we support our team's well-being and want employees to enjoy their time inside work and out of it

  • Tailored plan for personal progression in your role

  • A knowledgeable, social, and purposeful team

  • Your work helps us plant 1000's of trees each year with Tree Aid

  • Flexible working options including remote work

  • Fully catered "All-Hands" team meetup days for employees in the North East of England

Prior to the next step in the recruitment process, we welcome you to inform us confidentially if you may require any special accommodations in order to participate fully in our recruitment experience. Contact us at [email protected] to notify us of any needs related to completing the job description.

Our typical recruitment process is as follows:
