The Role

As a Domiciliary Care Worker at our Reading location, you'll provide essential care and support to both adults and children in a fixed, centralised setting. This isn't just a job - it's an opportunity to transform lives while working from one stable location.

You'll be supporting:

  • Adults and children with learning disabilities and physical disabilities
  • Individuals with mental health conditions
  • People with autism spectrum disorders
  • Those with challenging behaviours requiring therapeutic approaches
  • Service users with complex care needs

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing compassionate personal care with dignity and respect
  • Supporting with daily living skills, household tasks, and medication management
  • Facilitating social engagement and activities
  • Helping service users develop coping mechanisms and build resilience
  • Implementing individualised care plans using trauma-informed approaches
  • Encouraging independence and self-determination
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintaining accurate care records and documentation
  • Following organizational policies to ensure safeguarding and empowerment

What We're Looking For

ESSENTIAL Requirements:

Full UK driving licence - MUST HAVE

A genuine passion for making a positive difference in people's lives

Empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills

Ability to build trusting, therapeutic relationships

Respectful approach that upholds dignity and promotes independence

Flexibility to work various shifts (days, evenings, weekends)

Willingness to learn and undertake comprehensive training

Right to work in the UK

Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS check

DESIRABLE Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare, social care, domiciliary care, or support work (1+ year preferred)
  • Understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed care approaches
  • Knowledge of mental health, learning disabilities, or autism
  • Experience working with both adults and children
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Care Certificate)
  • GCSE or equivalent
