Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a keen interest in hospitality and food preparation. This role involves supporting daily operations within a coffee shop environment, ensuring customers enjoy a welcoming atmosphere and high-quality products. Previous experience in catering, serving, or restaurant settings is advantageous, but not essential. The successful applicant will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth running of the shop while creating a positive experience for all patrons.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialised coffee drinks, adhering to company standards.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks, ensuring all items meet safety and quality standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, answering queries, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter, seating area, and workstations throughout shifts.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and operate POS systems efficiently.
  • Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold a welcoming environment.

Experience

  • Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality roles is not essential.
  • Barista experience is highly desirable, with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques.
  • Familiarity with food preparation processes and food safety standards is advantageous.
  • Experience working in a restaurant or café setting will be considered an asset.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour are vital for delivering outstanding service to customers. We value enthusiasm, professionalism, and a genuine passion for customer service in our team members.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.21 per hour
