We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, proactive person to join our team who can deliver timely and high-quality technical support within the School of Pharmacy. The fixed term post is offered Full time hours per week).

About the role

  • You will support and maintain the provision of key technical services within the Boots Science Building
  • You will work with academic staff and the technical team supporting the school to enable high quality research activities
  • You will monitor Health and Safety within the laboratory environment by assessing risks of planned activities and completing up-to-date standard operating procedures.
  • You may provide support, guidance and assistance to our Biological category 2 and/or chemistry and Instrument laboratories. Including facilities, equipment, skills and techniques.
  • Perform monthly monitoring of the Research labs and the equipment.
  • Perform building and lab inductions
  • Support and maintain an inventory of chemicals.
  • Provide Instrument training such as spectroscopy or HPLC equipment
  • Ensuring that resources are maintained and available when required.

About you:

You will have experience working in a technical role and will be educated to at least HNC or equivalent or have equivalent working experience in a relevant technical or scientific role. You have skills and experience in problem solving. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate a complex information with clarity.
