Trainee Water Treatment Engineer
The Role
The role will involve driving to various sites throughout the UK within a responsible distance working on both construction sites and various buildings. You will be assisting a lead Water treatment Engineer to carry out water treatment on heating and chilled systems and disinfections of domestic water systems. Experience is not required and all training will be given on the job.
A full clean driving licence is required.
You will be working for a growing family business based in Coventry who are looking for an assistant to an engineer based near West Bromwich. There is an opportunity to carry out an apprenticeship in Water treatment should there be interest. The requirements are to have a C or above in both Maths and English or obtain these along side the NVQ level 3 in Water treatment over the two years. The apprenticeship involves two days release per month to classroom study on teams. The apprenticeship is open to all ages.
You would be required to hold a CSCS card before starting which involves taking a health and Safety operatives test at a test centre and then the company would apply for your card to allow you to work on building sites.
The hours are based on 40.0 hours per week Monday to Friday. Early starts are required as most site will have inductions at 8am.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
To include but not limited to:
· To ensure customer satisfaction of service offered, to make contact with clients' representatives on site at each site visit and to build customer relations.
· Carry out all reasonable tasks, requests or projects as requested.
· To follow instructions as given by project managers/lead engineers.
· Always wear company clothing, appropriate PPE as required by Health & Safety regulations and present a clean, smart image.
· Maintain safe working environment both on site and at our premises.
· To abide to company rules, Health and Safety and Quality policies.
· Ensure employee handbook has been read and understood fully.
· Always behave respectfully towards customers, work colleagues and office staff.
· Never make a promise we cannot keep.
· Always promote a professional company image.
· UK Driving Licence and CSCS SKILL Card required (skill card can be obtained through the company before you start).
Key Skills & Attributes
· Follow company processes relating to all aspects of your work, showing respect to all staff and colleagues.
· Be prepared to occasionally travel and stay away as necessary to complete your work and always look for opportunities to improve standards. This is rare however but an option for short periods of time when both engineers feel suitable over travelling every day.
· Safe chemical handling.
· Report any issues to your project manager/lead engineer.
· To generate water quality logs and summary reports in a timely manner.
· Most Skills will be taught as this role will be for someone without previous experience in the industry.
