Our product portfolio encompasses two divisions that utilise laser technology in distinct ways.
The Micromachining Division offers complete laser systems as well as contract services for ultra-high precision laser cutting, drilling, milling, scribing and patterning. Whether our global customer base requires contract services or their own laser micromachining system for high-precision proof of concept work up to full volume production, we can help.
Our Imaging Division specialises in high-speed imaging analytical and illumination instrumentation and contract services. Our high-speed imaging products and services enable through real-time analysis of droplet, particle and bubble size measurements including quantification of spray pattern and plume geometry. Our laser-based illumination products are also paired with ultra high-speed cameras for specialised imaging applications including imaging of bright and energetic events that otherwise would be impossible to see.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an International Service Engineer based in Didcot. The International Service Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, field service, and providing technical support. Daily tasks include maintenance and repair of laser systems, commissioning and start-up support, and ensuring laser safety compliance. The engineer will also travel internationally to client sites, delivering high-quality technical solutions and support.
Qualifications
A sound engineering or scientific background, possibly with formal qualifications to HNC/HND or Degree level in an appropriate discipline, such as, Electronic/Mechanical Engineering or Physics. Candidates who do not hold formal qualifications will also be considered, if they can demonstrate an appropriate level of skills and experience.
Aptitudes and desired abilities
· Maturity, confidence and self-motivation
· The ability to plan work and operate so that customers are confident in our professional approach to service.
· The ability to travel, including overseas, at very short notice. Therefore a valid driving licence and passport are required.
· The ability to handle difficult situations, e.g. demanding customers etc.
· The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· The ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
· The ability to produce concise reports at the end of each job.
· Service Engineers must be of good health and well presented and thus be good ambassadors for Oxford Lasers Ltd.
· Estimated Overseas travel would be in the region of 50%, during other periods then work would be based in the office at Didcot.
· Prolonged periods of work overseas in Asia, Europe and the USA. In most cases these periods are usually covered in a two-week period.
