Litigation Solicitor/Legal Executive
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000
Location: Southend-on-Sea | Hybrid Working

With offices across Essex and over 20 years of trusted expertise, they're expanding their highly reputable Litigation team in Southend-on-Sea and seeking an ambitious Litigation Solicitor or Legal Executive to join them.
This is an outstanding opportunity to work directly with the Managing Director on a diverse range of commercial and civil litigation matters, whilst developing your career in a firm that genuinely invests in its people.

The Role in Detail
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Litigation Matters:
- Managing a varied caseload of commercial and civil litigation matters from inception to resolution
- Advising on landlord and tenant disputes including possession claims, dilapidations, and lease disputes
- Handling breach of contract claims for commercial and individual clients
- Managing debt recovery proceedings including statutory demands, winding-up petitions, and enforcement
- Advising on insolvency matters including creditor claims and director disputes
- Conducting commercial litigation including shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, and business-to-business claims
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and court bundles
- Representing clients at court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Building strong, trusted relationships with commercial and individual clients
- Providing clear, pragmatic, and commercially minded legal advice
- Acting as a trusted advisor during challenging and complex disputes
- Managing client expectations and delivering exceptional service standards
- Building rapport with referrers and generating new client relationships
- Contributing to monthly targets and KPIs whilst maintaining exceptional service standards
- Supporting business development initiatives including networking and client engagement
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to deliver seamless client service
Essential Requirements:
- 4+ years PQE as a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with solid litigation experience
- Strong technical knowledge across commercial and civil litigation matters
- Proven experience in landlord and tenant disputes, breach of contract claims, debt recovery, insolvency, and commercial litigation
- Excellent advocacy skills – confident representing clients at court hearings, mediations, and negotiations
- Strong drafting skills – ability to produce high-quality pleadings, witness statements, and legal documents
- Excellent communication skills – confident, clear, articulate, and approachable with clients and colleagues
- Client-focused approach – commitment to delivering exceptional service and building long-term relationships
- Commercial awareness – ability to provide pragmatic, business-focused advice
- Strong organisational skills – able to manage a varied caseload, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines
- Team player with a positive, flexible attitude and collaborative approach
- High ethical standards – committed to professionalism and integrity in all aspects of work
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal case management systems
