About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join our iAssess team on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis for six months. This pivotal role involves contributing to the development of our cutting-edge online exam platform, a core component of our new software product. The position offers flexibility regarding location, though attending meetings at our Glasgow-based office would be advantageous. As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, scalable, and efficient software solutions during a crucial phase of product development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and QA specialists, to ensure the successful implementation of features and functionalities that meet user needs and industry standards.
Qualifications
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Hands-on experience developing C# .NET API backends.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Strong expertise in JSON and XML data formats.
- Solid database experience, with PostgreSQL experience considered a plus.
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Quality Assurance principles, including various testing types and automated testing implementation.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technologies and industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance our online exam platform, ensuring it is robust, scalable, and user-friendly.
- Take ownership of specific areas of the product, driving their development from conception through deployment.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on quality, performance, and security.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team to promote best practices and consistency.
- Apply your expertise in JSON and XML for data storage, manipulation, and integration tasks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Assist in implementing automated testing strategies to improve product quality and reliability.
- Support continuous integration and deployment processes to streamline release cycles.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and innovations.
