About the role:We’re looking for a visible, hands-on Clinical Manager to provide robust clinical leadership and governance across our residential and supported living services. You’ll ensure safe, effective, person-centred care in line with the CQC Single Assessment Framework, NICE guidance and local safeguarding requirements—while developing confident, values-driven teams.What you’ll lead:Clinical leadership & governance: Drive clinical risk management, care planning and review. Chair MDTs and Health Action Plans (GP, CLDT/AMHS, SALT, OT, psychology, CHC). Ensure MCA compliance, best-interest decisions and CoP/Community DoLS where required. Keep policies/SOPs current; run audits with clear action plans and learning loops.Resident welfare & outcomes: Maintain oversight of physical/mental health (LT conditions, LAIs, epilepsy, dysphagia/IDDSI, nutrition/MUST, falls, tissue viability, bowel care, screening). Champion independence, PBS and least-restrictive practice. Track unplanned admissions/attendances and lead prevention and post-discharge support.Medicines safety: Oversee ordering, storage, administration, MAR accuracy, controlled drug checks, PRN protocols and homely remedies. Lead investigations into meds incidents and deliver corrective/preventive actions; keep staff competence assessments up to date.Quality, safety & safeguarding: Run internal quality audits (care plans, MARs, health files, IPC, incident learning). Ensure Duty of Candour, safeguarding referrals and RIDDOR reporting are timely and robust. Prepare evidence and lead on CQC engagement/inspections.People & culture: Line-manage and coach Team Leaders/Seniors; set objectives, hold supervisions and appraisals. Plan/monitor induction, mandatory and clinical training, aiming for ≥95% compliance. Role-model values-based, trauma-informed, PBS-aligned practice; support wellbeing and retention. Input to safe staffing, rostering, absence management and safe delegation/escalation.Records, data & IG: Ensure contemporaneous, person-centred documentation and secure data handling (UK GDPR). Produce clear reports—incidents, trends, audits and KPIs—for governance and commissioners.Stakeholders & families: Build strong relationships with people we support, families, advocates, commissioners and health partners. Communicate changes in need/risk and embed co-production in care planning.Operational contribution: Support admissions/transitions, compatibility and risk assessments. Participate in senior on-call and lead responses to clinical emergencies and business continuity events.What you’ll bring:NMC-registered Nurse (RNLD/RMN/RGN) or suitably qualified AHP with substantial experience leading clinical care for adults with LD/Autism, mental health and/or complex needs (community and residential/supported living).Line-management experience (coaching, supervision, performance).Post-registration training: Safeguarding (L3), MCA/Best Interests, PBS, medicines management. Desirable: clinical supervision, epilepsy rescue meds, dysphagia/IDDSI, tissue viability.Strong audit, RCA/investigation and improvement skills; confident with CQC frameworks and commissioning requirements.Excellent communication, de-escalation and partnership working.Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
