Known for our straightforward approach and strong service standards, we offer a professional and supportive working environment for our team.Purpose of the Role:We are looking to appoint a full-time Maintenance Operative to assist with the day-to-day repair and upkeep of our portfolio of garage sites. The successful candidate will carry out a broad range of general maintenance tasks across a defined territory (primarily covering Berkshire, Surrey, London, Hertfordshire, and surrounding counties), with support from our Head Office team.This is a practical, field-based role, suitable for someone with general trade skills, a professional attitude, and a willingness to travel as required.Key Responsibilities:Repair and maintenance of wooden garage doors, fascia boards, frames and fencing.Patching concrete and other minor surface repairs.Guttering and basic roof repair works.Removal of fly-tipped rubbish and general waste (some physical lifting required).Hedge trimming and vegetation control on garage sites.Lock changes, inspections, and basic garage door repairs.Weed control using appropriate treatments (training will be provided).Completing job reports with photographs and notes using a tablet-based system.Liaising with office and operations team to ensure clear scheduling and job follow-up.Candidate Profile:Essential:Proven experience in general maintenance, trades, or property repair.Full UK driving licence.Ability to work independently and manage a daily job schedule.Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to record and report job outcomes.Good communication skills, including occasional tenant or contractor liaison.Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in a job well done.Desirable:Based near In surrounding areas of Reading, with good access to counties .Previous experience in a mobile maintenance or estates role.Familiarity with basic property safety practices (manual handling, PPE, etc.).What We Offer:Company van (collected and brought back to HO each day).21 days holiday + bank holidays.Pension scheme.Ongoing support from a well-established team.
