This necessitates a clearly articulated proposition, a focused solutions and product offering and dedicated sales activity alongside excellent client service and relationship management.We operate as part of Mercer’s Investments business and work alongside Marsh McLennan colleagues at Marsh, Guy Carpenter and Oliver Wyman to leverage our group insurance expertise. The aim is to differentiate Mercer through a strategic and technical understanding of the environment these clients operate in and to support them through first class relationship management, client service, strategic partnerships and innovation.ResponsibilitiesPlay a pivotal role in growing Mercer's business with UK insurance clients through the delivery of a market leading product, solutions and client service propositionLead and drive business development activity to position Mercer as the leading and preferred investment solutions provider for insurers in the UK and BermudaWorking with Investment Solutions colleagues, develop and execute a commercial/sales strategy for acquiring and growing insurance assets under managementAlign Mercer's insurance investment advisory proposition with strategies for growing revenue through retainer and high value assignmentsEnsure best practice business development activities including client identification, opportunity origination and solution designLead client and opportunity negotiationsEnsure process and control environment to maintain adherence to relevant conduct principles and guidelinesIdentify and highlight opportunities for product/solutions improvementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders including Insurance Solutions, Client Service, Product, Marketing, Investments, Operations, Compliance, Finance and LegalLead/support special projects/initiatives across the business; provide guidance and peer review; act as coach/mentor to junior colleaguesProvide input to team development & strategyQualificationsWell informed on insurance industry themes and deep understanding of insurance client needs and requirementsFirm grasp of the underlying investment, operational and regulatory issues that determine insurers’ investment and business decision-makingStrong problem solving skills & ability to clearly articulate complex issuesExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsCommercial awareness and confidence to effectively orchestrate outcomes through other teams and specialist groupsAbility to work within a team environment and operate as a mentor to junior colleagues; share ideas and present persuasive argumentsAdministratively proficient and organisedWhat makes you stand outDemonstrable track record of raising assets and/or advisory revenue from UK insurersWhy join our teamWe help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.Equality, diversity and inclusionMarsh McLennan is committed to embracing a diverse, inclusive and flexible work environment.
