Strategy & LeadershipPlease make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest.Supporting Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on all legal and compliance matters to ensure delivery of Fletchers' strategyClose collaboration with ELT, Chief Legal Officer (CLO), Director of Compliance, Managing Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and other members of ELT and SLT on all legal and compliance aspects of M&A transactionsCross‑functional support on key projects, especially for the Legal Transformation, Legal Strategy and Legal Operations Teams.Supporting the CLO/COLP and Director of Compliance with all compliance and regulatory aspects of Fletchers' strategy to ensure business facilitation is achieved in a safe, compliant wayWorking with Learning & Development Team to provide training on various matters relevant to roleWorking with two other Heads ofWorking at the start of the firm's processes when dealing with cases, looking at systems and procedures to ensure compliancePeople ManagementLead the team, managing the team membersDevelop junior support as requiredCoach, develop and support team membersTechnicalRequired level of knowledge and expertise in relevant aspects of compliance and regulation, including SRA and FCA together with ICO matters and relevant legislation including LASPO, etc.Review and advise upon all aspects of business compliance with GDPR and data privacy lawAssist in drafting policies, procedure and documents in support of the business compliance with any statutory or regulatory obligationsLiaise with other business stakeholders in respect of any effects of statutory or regulatory changes to their business areas and, where necessary, assist in change implementation.Review and report on any statutory or regulatory considerations in planned business changesAssist with the implementation of any matters raised by the Risk Team or the ELT BoardAssist in reporting to the CLO and Risk Team (monthly) in respect of business risks and compliance‑based issuesAssist the legal teams and wider business in managing proactively the wider business risksManage risk relationship with our professional indemnity insurers, and deal with any formal negligence claimsAssist in dealing with day to day risk matters raised across the business with a view to reducing risk levelReporting to the Senior leadership team monthly in respect of day to day risk matters raised in their business areaBuild positive working relationships with all key stakeholders across the businessTo act as a champion for good legal practiceTo deliver key compliance KPIs alongside project specific KPIsQualifications & ExperienceComprehensive knowledge & understanding of Compliance LawExperience of successfully working and leading in a legal Compliance teamExcellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive working relationships with a wide variety of team members and to manage the sensitivities of challenging legal practice appropriately where necessaryExcellent understanding of and the ability to deliver excellent customer serviceExcellent understanding of how to balance compliance with business driversExperience of coaching and supporting team membersAbility to role model good practice leadershipTechnology literate, with the ability to use technology to enhance legal servicesOffice Locations: Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bolton, Southport, Newcastle, Reading, Birmingham, Northampton, and CambridgeFletchers Solicitors are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to play a pivotal role in safeguarding our regulatory standards and supporting our ambitious strategic plans.
