Distribution Centre Manager

Job PurposeTo plan storage and distribution of customer orders from receipt to delivery whilst ensuring the most cost effective and suitable transport route. To ensure the DC operates efficiently, safely and at budgeted costDuties & ResponsibilitiesOrganise and monitor transport requirements in conjunction with the Transport Senior Team LeaderChallenge transport performance through KPI’sPlan and manage customer orders from receipt in the sales office to delivery at the customers required site by evaluation of customer needs and cost-effective transportPlan and manage day-to-day stock accuracy in conjunction with the DC stock controllerPlan and monitor receipts from the Factory/Suppliers and ensure there is space to store product & optimise storage opportunitiesPlan and implement a manning structure to be fully operational within the budgeted efficiency targetsPlan and manage daily/weekly output in line with budget/forecastProcess and monitor DC costs in conjunction with the Company AccountantMonitor and troubleshoot WMS systems in conjunction with IT to ensure a continuous processPropose, implement, and monitor improved ways of workingAttend cross-departmental management meetings and co-ordinate any issuesCoordination with colleagues in other DC across the group to align on Intercompany optimisationEnsure supply of resources such as pallets, packaging etc.Follow up customer queries on delivery exceptionsSupport Business Continuity projectsAnnually assess and refine FLT requirementsIn conjunction with Purchasing, ensure all annual contracts are reviewed and renewed within the budgeted costsComply with Health and Safety responsibilities as defined in the company health and safety policy, and ensure these are adequately delegated in the absence of the job holderComply and enforce all Company policies and processes as defined in the company HandbookPerson ProfileKnowledge of xpwpeyx the Transport Industry, Export, 3PL, Customs ManagementGood knowledge of Microsoft office or equivalentGood knowledge of WMS/SAP systemsExcellent People Management skillsGood CommunicatorStrong LeaderFlexibility of working hours when requiredAbility to work cross functionallyProject PlanningChange ManagementEducation and/or Experience10+ years’ Warehouse/Transport Management experienceExperience of working within an FMCG environmentLogistics Diploma or equivalent levelEnglish and Maths GCSE levelTransport Manager CPC qualification#J-18808-Ljbffr
