Together, we build strong leaders that continually endeavour to move us forward.About the RoleAtkore UK looks for a Supply Chain Director who will lead and oversee all aspects of the supply chain function, including purchasing, inventory management, vendor selection and negotiation, and distribution of finished goods within a manufacturing environment. This role is accountable for developing and implementing strategies that ensure critical supply chain processes operate efficiently, meet organisational objectives, and achieve performance KPIs. The Director will also design, implement, and support new and existing processes to enhance quality, service delivery, and operational performance. A key focus will be to identify and deliver performance improvement opportunities, lead transformational programmes, and drive new business initiatives. The position will also involve evaluating and developing new supply chains and supplier partnerships to optimise efficiency and reduce costs across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote & maintain awareness and compliance of H&S in accordance with best practice and legal requirementsCreate, implement and refresh the functional strategic plan and implement appropriate programs to address evolving business requirements or issues, collaborating with other divisions, regions, carriers, freight forwarders and other supply chain partnersConstantly review external trends and identify internal opportunities for continuous improvementAlign development plans for managers to the functional strategic plan to create structure, accountability, responsibility and focusOversee routine, disciplined operational reviews that cascade through the organization to all levels enabling rapid escalation of issues for resolution and improved performanceLeverage available resources and set the benchmark for project management, planning and execution using Lean, right first time approaches to eliminate waste and failureLead the implementation, ongoing management and effectiveness of Operations Planning programEnsure capacity and capability plans for staffing levels, IT solutions and outsourcing are timely, cost effective, operationally effective and support customer requirementsEnsure appropriate process controls and documentation are in place at suppliersPerform all company business in accordance with regulations, company policies and procedures and demonstrate high ethical and professional standards with business contacts to maintain an excellent reputation within the business communityLead the supply chain organisation through a lean excellence frameworkFollow company procedure regarding all administrative aspects of the roleTake reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others affected by actions or omissions throughout the course of business activities, acting in accordance with the Company's Safety Policy and setting a personal example at all timesUndertake any other reasonable duty as requested by the managerEducation / Qualification / TrainingEssentialGCSE or equivalentA LevelsCIPSDesirableBachelor’s degree in supply chain or related fieldMBAExperience / KnowledgeEssential5-10 years’ experience in purchasing and supply chainCommercial understandingDesirableEuropean xpwpeyx experiencePersonal AttributesStrong knowledge of steel marketThrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environmentUnderstands market dynamics as well as the legal and regulatory landscapeSenior level supply chain with a track record of operational service level and efficiency improvementStrong working knowledge of supply chain management principlesEffective written and verbal communication skillsConfident, articulate and able to influence at all levels with exceptional leadership, communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent time management & leadership skillsAction and results orientedBenefitsOpportunities for growth and development25 days annual leaveFestive shutdown at ChristmasCompanywide bonus schemeService and recognition awardsTraining and development opportunitiesCompany pensionLife assurance 4x salaryDiscounted gym membershipEnhanced family friendly policiesFree annual flu vaccination vouchersEmployee assistance programme which includes a 24/7 virtual GP serviceCash health planFree home cyber security training Cycle to work schemeFree onsite parkingLocationWest Bromwich, England, United Kingdom#J-18808-Ljbffr
