Canterbury Christ Church University is seeking an exceptional individual to take on the role of Technical Operations Director for our Anatomy Learning Centre.As a key member of the Directorate of Specialist Resources and Technical Services, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality technical support for teaching, research, and knowledge exchange activities within the Anatomy Learning Centre. Working closely with academic leads from Kent and Medway Medical School and across the University, you will ensure a world‑class learning experience for both staff and students.About the RoleAct as the Designated Individual under the Human Tissue Authority Licence (HTA) on behalf of the UniversityHave extensive knowledge of the Human Tissue Act 2004 and the Human Tissue Authority including leading on the delivery of the standards outlined in Code CProvide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the centre runs efficiently and complies with all regulatory requirementsOversee health and safety management for the centre, ensuring all staff, students and visitors work within safe, compliant environmentsLead and inspire a team of technical staff, driving best practice, professional development and operational excellenceShape the future of technical service provision through forward planning, business intelligence and infrastructure developmentBuild strong partnerships with academic colleagues to support teaching, research and innovationManage specialist facilities, resources and budgets to enable cutting‑edge anatomical education and researchAbout YouProven experience in a similar technical leadership role, ideally within higher education or a clinical settingExpertise in working with anatomical resources, including cadaveric materialStrong knowledge of health and safety regulations (IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable)Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams and complex projectsA proactive, solution‑focused mindset and the ability to adapt to changing prioritiesMembership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RSci or REng/ABTT) and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy are desirable but not essentialWhy Canterbury Christ Church University?At Canterbury Christ Church University, we are proud of our collaborative, inclusive culture and our commitment to innovation in teaching and research.
