We work across sectors encompassing buildings, infrastructure, and regeneration.Main Purpose of the JobWe are seeking an experienced Engineer to join our Civil Structures Team on the Portsmouth City Council Highways PFI Contract with Colas Ltd. The successful candidate will support highway project delivery, including inspection, design, and supervision of works. The role is primarily office/site-based with support from our London team.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct engineering services such as investigations, site inspections, data analysis, feasibility studies, design, tender documentation, and supervision.Prepare technical designs following approved standards.Develop technical documents and drawings for review and approval.Apply engineering judgment and propose innovative solutions.Coordinate with contractors, design team, and project managers on changes and scope.Supervise works and prepare related reports and calculations.Ensure compliance with standards, codes, and safety legislation.Adhere to company and client procedures and management systems.Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:BSc or equivalent in Civil Engineering.Full driving license.Knowledge of highway design codes and standards.Experience with highway and bridge projects.Understanding of health and safety legislation.Proficiency with survey equipment, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.Good communication skills and initiative.Knowledge of relevant standards such as DMRB, TSRGD.We offer a collaborative environment, professional development, and competitive benefits.
